Velvet 89: Exploring the Velvet Revolution Through Hidden Object Puzzles (Gameplay)

Hello friends. This is a Let’s Play video of “Velvet 89”. How did the communist regime in Czechoslovakia fall? This hidden-object game tells the story of ordinary people taking part in the peaceful demonstrations that changed the course of history. Big crowds hide those, who want to tell you why they took to the streets.

Velvet 89 immerses players in the pivotal moments of Czechoslovakia’s 1989 Velvet Revolution through a historical hidden-object adventure. With a visual style reminiscent of paper cut-outs and faded photo albums, the game combines handcrafted graphics with actual historical footage to bring history alive. Developed in collaboration with experts from the Czech project Stories of Injustice, every piece of the story is based on actual testimonies, offering an authentic portrayal of the revolution’s momentum from the border regions to the squares of Prague.
