GIGASWORD: The Metroidvania Where Your Sword Is Also a Puzzle Tool (Gameplay)

Hello friends. This is a Let’s Play video of “GIGASWORD”. Balance the weight of the GIGASWORD, battling between brain and brawn. Solve intricate puzzles, discover covert chambers, and slash through foes as Ezra fights to reach the top of the Nestrium and recover the God Crystal within. Can he restore the world’s coherency before it’s too late?

GIGASWORD blends action-puzzle mechanics with metroidvania exploration, built around a central conceit that elevates it above standard genre entries: your massive blade serves equally as weapon and tool. Developer Studio Hybrid and publisher Akupara Games have crafted a game where the weight of the sword becomes the core mechanic – ground it to activate pressure plates, unlock doors, push blocks, and traverse the ancient tower Nestrium unburdened, then reclaim it to hack through demons and corrupted bosses. The setting follows Ezra as humanity, plagued by famine and disease in the city of Thoenhart, makes a desperate play for the God Crystal Gnosis, inadvertently awakening a reality-threatening evil. The 1980s-inspired pixel art brings colorful, atmospheric visuals to forgotten halls hiding secrets behind every nook and cranny. New abilities unlock throughout the journey including Thunder Bolts, Crawling Sparks, and Grappling Hooks, expanding both combat and traversal options. A deluxe edition bundling the soundtrack is available for those drawn to the retro audio design.
