Hello friends. This is a Let’s Play video of “DEORUM” demo version. Descend into the forsaken dungeon and fight the horrors in the dark. Gather occult materials, craft nightmarish coins, and settle your debt to the cosmic powers. Obey the Divine Festival.
Joyhop Games’ DEORUM is a pixel-art dungeon crawler that drags you headfirst into a marriage of dark fantasy and Lovecraftian cosmic horror, where a mysterious watcher guides your descent through 12 layers of forsaken labyrinth split across three distinct zones, all in service of crafting nightmarish coins to settle an unspeakable debt to eldritch powers ahead of the grand Divine Festival. The combat is the standout twist – rather than traditional turn-based exchanges, you flip arcane coins that activate symbols of power to deal damage, defend yourself, and inflict status effects, turning every encounter into a tense dance with luck that you can gradually learn to bend in your favor through unlocked symbols, perk cards, and skill upgrades. Between dungeon delves spent swinging your pickaxe at brittle bones, living flesh, and otherworldly artifacts, you return to craft grotesque coins from gathered materials, merge ingredients into more potent forms, and unlock arcane perks from a deck of mysterious cards that gradually reveal the cosmic truth behind your task. With 6+ hours of unsettling atmosphere, a tree of upgrades to chase, and a narrative that wraps survival horror, dark fantasy, and forbidden knowledge into one cohesive package, DEORUM is shaping up as the kind of moody, mechanically distinct indie that fans of Inscryption and Darkest Dungeon should have firmly on their radar.
