Hello friends. This is a Let’s Play video of “Neverway” prologue version. After quitting her dead-end job, Fiona starts over on a farm and becomes the immortal herald of a dead god. Make friends, fight through horrors and pay your debt in this nightmarish life sim RPG.
Every once in a while a Steam page reveals itself to be less a marketing slot than a transparent flex of indie pedigree, and Neverway from Coldblood Inc. (co-published by Innersloth’s Outersloth label) is exactly that kind of opening hand. Co-directed by the pixel artist behind Celeste and scored by Disasterpeace of Hyper Light Drifter and Fez fame, it follows Fiona as she quits a dead-end job, retreats to a remote-island farm, and quietly becomes the immortal herald of a dead god whose debt she will be repaying at all costs. The loop blends slow-burning life-sim comfort, planting, fishing, cooking, decorating, and dating any of ten-plus charming locals, with top-down action-RPG combat where every friendship bond unlocks abilities you’ll absolutely need when Neverway, the nightmare reality next door, starts leaking through the cracks. Picture Stardew Valley if it had grown up reading weird fiction and listened to Disasterpeace on the bus to work, and you are roughly in the right neighbourhood. This is the kind of slow-cooked horror RPG the wishlist queue was invented for.
