Once in a while a Steam page slows your scrolling to a crawl because the pitch is just unusually delicate, and Swan Song from Belgian studio Business Goose Studios is one of those. Pitched as a cosy, emotional puzzle game set inside a hand-crafted music box, it asks you to compose your way out: place musical notes of different shapes and sizes onto a scale, turn the key, and let the melody activate the platforms that guide a small swan toward safety. Each puzzle is, quite literally, a piece of music waiting to be written, and between them a touching narrative unfolds about the music box’s creator, his family, his masterpieces, his regrets, making this less a puzzle game with a story and more a slow, melancholic composition with puzzle bones underneath. The aesthetic is hushed isometric cuteness; the tonal company it keeps includes Wandersong, A Musical Story, and the gentler corners of Old Man’s Journey or GRIS. With a free demo already live and a Q2 2026 release window, this is exactly the kind of evening-sized indie that the cosy-puzzle shelf was invented for.
