Hello friends. This is a Let’s Play video of “over the hill” demo version. Explore the world in the golden age of offroading. Drive iconic vehicles from the 60s to 80s by yourself or with friends through challenging trails and beautiful scenery.
Anyone who has ever lost a Sunday to art of rally’s minimalist top-down hill climbs already knows that Funselektor Labs operates on a different wavelength to the rest of the driving genre, and over the hill is the next quietly stunning move. Co-developed with Strelka Games, it trades the rally circuits of the previous game for a roaming, low-poly open-world ode to the golden age of offroading, think Defenders, Broncos, and Land Cruisers from the 60s through 80s, bouncing across procedurally varied biomes inspired by real-world landscapes with dynamic weather, day-night cycles, and proper terrain deformation churning the mud under your tyres. The hooks are gentle and exploratory rather than competitive: chase falling meteorites for resources, find hidden portals to fresh regions, unlock cosmetics and upgrades from a merchant, kit out your rig with roof racks, kayaks, bull bars, and continental spares, and drag up to three friends along for the ride. There is a photo mode, naturally, because there always is when the screenshots come out this pretty. Funselektor has spent a decade quietly building the most stylish corner of indie driving, and over the hill looks set to extend that lease for another five years at least.
