Hello friends. This is a Let’s Play video of “Armatus” demo version. ARMATUS is a third-person roguelite shooter set in the demon-infested ruins of Paris. As the last supernatural warrior of an ancient order, armed with powerful firearms and incredible celestial powers, scour the city in search of a lost gateway to heaven – the Sunless Gate.
Once you learn that Armatus is being made by Counterplay Games, the studio that gave us Duelyst back in 2016 and launched Godfall alongside the PS5, it becomes much easier to explain the ambitions on display in their upcoming third-person roguelite shooter. Set to release in 2026 under the NetEase-affiliated Fictions banner, this is a stylish demonic-Paris power fantasy in which you play the last supernatural warrior of an ancient order, armed with a scythe, your firearm of choice (SMGs, shotguns, and everything in between), and a growing library of celestial abilities, holy fire, slow time, and worse, searching the ruined city for the Sunless Gate, a lost gateway to heaven. The framework is Returnal-honest: fight, die, revive, get further, master your loadout, then get even further. The tone is Devil May Cry V drenched in Doom Eternal’s demon-swarming energy, staged among crumbling Haussmannian apartments and the surviving human enclaves clinging on behind holy wards. A 60 GB install size and an RTX 2060 minimum spec signal something considerably bigger than the average indie roguelike, and PC Gaming Show 2026 already gave it prime billing. For anyone still riding the third-person action-roguelite high that Returnal opened up, this is the 2026 wishlist entry to circle in red.
