Hello friends. This is a Let’s Play video of “Undying Flame”. Survive a minimalist wave-survival rogue-lite. Keep the fire alive. Read its flame. Defend your fire against creatures that crawl from the dark across endless waves. Every wave survived, the fire grows. Over time, it consumes everything.
Sometimes an indie developer takes one clean mechanical idea and runs it all the way to the horizon, and Per Sidera Industries’ Undying Flame is doing exactly that. Coming September 8, 2026 with a demo already up, it is a top-down wave-survival roguelite built around a single elegant swap: there is no health bar. Your campfire IS your health, and reading it, the colour of the flames, the volume of the crackle, the height of the flying embers, becomes the survival skill the whole game hangs on. Creatures crawl out of the dark to snuff the fire, you shoot them, they drop wood, you feed the flame, and every wave you survive the fire grows a little brighter, a little louder, and a little hungrier for the darkness itself. The scope is deceptively big: six classes, four placeable structures, eight enemy archetypes (including Brutes that pause menacingly at the light’s edge and Necros that raise their own dead), 90 relics across seven categories with 10 hidden synergies waiting to be discovered, a Cursed category that starts teleporting your bullets, and 15 challenges from Pacifist to Ashen Vow to Dead Man’s Bargain. Handmade or fully synthesized audio, full controller support, Windows and Linux native, and a promise that if you survive long enough the fire eats the whole screen and the game becomes something else entirely. This is exactly the kind of one-idea-executed-perfectly indie the discovery queue was built for.
