Hello friends. This is a Let’s Play video of “UnderKeep” demo version. Explore a dangerous fantasy world in this role-playing dungeon crawler with tactical, turn-based combat. Assemble a party of adventurers, upgrade your gear and descend into the depths of the Underkeep to uncover what lies hidden below.
Anyone who spent 1992 hand-drawing Eye of the Beholder maps on graph paper in a school notebook is going to have an immediate reaction to Rake in Grass’s Underkeep, and it will be a good one. Announced as a loving tribute to 90s dungeon crawlers, this is a first-person, grid-based, party-based, turn-based dungeon crawler in the exact SSI-and-Sir-Tech tradition, from a Czech indie studio that has been quietly making PC games since the early 2000s. Assemble a four-adventurer party where synergy is everything (a good team deepens strategy, a bad one seals your grave, per their own line), descend into hand-built dungeons where every room hides intent, talk to peculiar NPCs, solve puzzles that fit the world instead of breaking immersion, ration your stamina and mana across tactical combat that punishes carelessness, and mark your own automap with the locked doors and mystery passages you swear you’ll come back to. If Legend of Grimrock woke up your Wizardry brain a decade ago and you have been waiting for another beautifully disciplined descent, Underkeep is aiming squarely at that pleasure. A free demo is already up. This is exactly the kind of purist old-school indie the discovery queue exists to make sure the right people find.
