Hello friends. This is a Let’s Play video of “Reap and Rush”. Reap and Rush is an absurdly addictive action roguelike. Step into the role of an underworld envoy thrust into a chaotic underworld. Fight through hordes of Yaoguai, leveling-up skills to become a soul-harvesting reaper and unravel a shocking conspiracy across endless cycles…
Sometimes the freshest thing an action roguelike can bring to a crowded genre is a completely different mythology, and Beijing Pacifier Technology’s Reap and Rush is doing exactly that. Coming July 21, 2026 with a demo already up, this Chinese-developed action roguelike sends you to the mortal realm as an underworld envoy in the wake of a jurisdictional crisis: mortals are living too long, reincarnation is broken, your boss Zhong Kui the Demon Slayer has vanished, and it falls to the reapers to slaughter enough Yaoguai to restore order. The gameplay is anime-styled top-down survivors-like carnage layered with a genuinely inventive build system, stack fate stones with yin spells, spend underworld currency on paper craft consumables, and forge synergies that no two runs seem to repeat. Between fights, envoy duties expand the scope: feed a hungry Yaoguai, help a lost god find his shrine, untangle a fox spirit mid-cultivation, all with the comedic bureaucratic energy of Chinese folklore at its best. This is a survivors-like drinking from a mythology well the genre rarely visits, and after Black Myth: Wukong and Nine Sols proved the audience appetite is very real, Reap and Rush is timed just about perfectly. Wishlist for the aesthetic alone.
